Losing weight is definitely a challenge all in itself, so I like to make that challenge a little more comfortable by finding foods to eat that I still enjoy. As far as something healthy to drink or eat, smoothies are the way to go! They are tasty, healthy, quick, and depending on the contents they can be low cost too! These 16 smoothie recipes are some of the ones that I switch off between, I don't like to have the same one every morning so I usually pick up ingredients for at least 2-3 different combinations of fruit.  I hope these help you on your diet journey and remember, consistency is key! Don't give up!

Blueberry Citrus Smoothie



  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup greek vanilla yogurt
  • 1/4 baby spinach
  • 1/4 cup ice
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

  • Blend 30-40 seconds and serve.

Banana Berry Smoothie



  • 1/2 Cup frozen peaches
  • 1/2 Cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/8 Cup milk
  • 3/4 Cup yogurt, plain or blueberry
  • 1/2 Cup frozen or fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 Cup frozen or fresh peaches

Berry Pomegranate Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup nonfat cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1 medium banana

Combine berries, pomegranate juice, banana, cottage cheese and water in a blender; blend until smooth. Serve immediately for best results.








Strawberry Honey Smoothie Recipe

1/4 cup honey
1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
3 cups frozen strawberries
2 bananas, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup fat-free milk

Banana Mint Chip Smoothie


8-10 oz (500 ml)  unsweetened almond milk
(hemp, oat, cashew milks are a good substitute)
1 handful of spinach or romaine (cos)
1 banana

4 sprigs of  fresh mint

2 tbsp cacao nibs
Optional - For added nutrients and protein add 1 scoop Amazing Grass Superfood

Wash the greens! Blend all ingredients until desired consistency.





Strawberry Mango Mint Smoothie


1 cup -sliced Earthbound Farm Organic Strawberries (or Earthbound Farm Frozen Organic Strawberries)
1 -Earthbound Farm Organic Mango, peeled and cubed (or Earthbound Farm Frozen Organic Mango Chunks)
1 cup -strawberry or pineapple juice
⅔ cup -nonfat plain yogurt
1 Tbsp -minced fresh mint leaves
1 cup -crushed ice or ice cubes

honey or sugar (to taste)

1 large banana
5 strawberries
1 cup of ice
1 cup of milk

Banana Ginger Smoothie


1 banana, sliced
¾ c (6 oz) vanilla yogurt
1 Tbsp honey
½ tsp freshly grated ginger

Optional - For added nutrients and protein add 1 scoop Amazing Grass Superfood

Combine all ingrediants and blend until desired consistency. Add slices or banana to top.(optional)




Orange Dream Creamsicle Smoothie


1 navel orange, peeled
2 Tbsp frozen orange juice concentrate
¼ tsp vanilla extract¼ c fat-free half-and-half or fat-free yogurt
4 ice cubes

Optional - For added nutrients and protein add 1 scoop Amazing Grass Superfood

Mix all ingredients and blend 30-40 seconds. For best results use a professional grade blender like a Ninja Ultima Blender.

Healthy Eggnog Recipe


1-3 cups almonds or brazil nuts (depending on how thick and creamy you like your nog)
4 cups water
splash of lemon juice
1 tbsp Nature's Flavors oganic vanilla extract
1 tsp - 1 tbsp maca root powder
1 tsp nutmeg, ground
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
pinch cloves, ground
2-4 tbsp maple syrup (or unpasteurized honey)










Berry Almond Smoothie


1  large banana (peeled)
1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
1/2 cup plain yogurt
3/4 cup almond milk
1/2 cup almond butter
3 dates (pitted and quartered)
1 cup ice (or as needed)

Blend 30-40 Seconds.
